Gluten-free diets are not only for celiacs but can also be beneficial for other people. And they don’t have to be bland.
Gluten-free diets are a must for those with celiac or wheat intolerance to prevent serious intestinal inflammation. Avoiding gluten can also benefit those with polycystic kidney disease or gluten sensitivity. Non-celiacs also adopt the GF diet, claiming that it increases energy and helps with weight loss. (Though, note that further research is required to confirm these claims). It’s worth keeping a few gluten-free recipes in your back pocket for when you need to feed friends who cannot tolerate gluten.
What is gluten, and where can you find it? Gluten is a family of proteins that are found in grains such as wheat and barley. It is also present in spelled, rye, and spelled.
