If you want an authentic taste, then use maida or plain flour. Second, I have substituted butter with olive Oil when preparing the batter. Butter adds flavor, but it hardens after cooling. You may need to warm the cake before serving it to soften it. You can also experiment with the recipe and add dry fruits, grape/wine liquids or other ingredients. This should be very similar to a Christmas fruitcake.

INSTRUCTIONS
Take the blended dates and paste in a large mixing bowl.
add in ¾ cup olive oil and ¼ cup curd.
Blend well until the mixture is well combined.
Place the sieve and add 2 cup wheat flour, 1 tsp baking powder and ½ tsp baking soda.
Blend and mix well until the mixture is combined.
Further, add ½ cup walnuts and 5 dates.
mix by combining using the cut and fold method.
Transfer the batter to the cake tray or bread mould.
pat the tray twice to remove the air incorporated into the batter.
Top with more walnuts to make it look more attractive.
place the cake tray into the preheated oven. Bake the cake at 180 degree celsius or 356 degrees fahrenheit for 45 minutes.
Finally, serve the dates cake or store in an airtight container.
